    Job Title: Buyer - Automotive Manufacturing

    Location: Greer, South Carolina, United States

    Employment Type: Full-Time

    Experience Level: 2+ Years

    Mission: To support purchasing activities on current programs.

    TMC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join a purchasing team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the automotive sector. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and equipment to meet production and operational needs.

    What you will do as a Buyer:

    • Work according to HSE requirements.
    • Manage current manufacturing suppliers.
    • Source purchased material, components, and tooling.
    • Support plant goals (cost, quality, delivery, etc.).
    • Manage and resolve supplier issues (cost, quality, delivery, etc.).
    • Drive cost reductions / productivity.
    • Place purchase orders for manufacturing requirements and follow up on open orders.
    • Assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers and the development of new suppliers as needed.
    • Serve as back up for the crib attendant if they are out of the office.
    • Interface with corporate sourcing group as required; ensure adherence with company policies for procurement at all times.
    • Manage the file maintenance for all MRO purchasing activities.
    • Analysis of MRO purchasing and special projects as needed.
    • Serve as a key user for the SCOOP system. Train and asses end –users, provide support, enforce good use of the system, help improve the system for the site, and manager impacts on SCOOP by new flows and projects.
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement tools (POSITIVE, POMs, Focused Improvement Roadmaps, etc)

    What you must bring in as a Buyer:

    • 4- year college degree (Major in Business) or equivalent.
    • MBA or CPM a plus
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive industry.
    • Proficiency in using purchasing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
    • Knowledge of automotive industry standards, materials, and components.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
