    Embedded Engineer, Senior

    The Opportunity:

    As an embedded software engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We're looking for an experienced embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients' most important mission-forward challenges.

    As a senior embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you'll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you'll write, test, and edit code in support of the team's overall results. You'll expand your skills as you develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You'll work with other team leaders to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software you're creating is secure.

    On our team, you'll be involved in the full lifecycle of software projects, technical capabilities, and product design. Working on an agile team of experts, you'll perform reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis of diverse software problems. You'll inform operational parameters for complex systems, as well as leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to influence the delivery of your work. You'll determine what the art of the possible is – what can be done – and then you'll bring it to life for your clients.

    You Have:

    • 6+ years of experience with software system requirements analysis, design, integration, or testing
    • 6+ years of experience with software development
    • Experience with configuration and administration
    • Experience with Virtual Environments, including VMWare ESXi, Open Stack, Open vSwitch, and QEMU
    • Experience with embedded platforms, including Linux, Unix, Android, and VxWorks
    • Experience with software reverse engineering or debugging tools, including IDAPro, OllyDbg, and gdb
    • Knowledge of assembly languages and development or reversing
    • Knowledge of low level, systems programming concepts
    • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
    • Bachelor's degree

    Nice If You Have:

    • Experience with performing embedded software development with platform architectures, including Power PC, MIPS, and ARM x86
    • Experience in vulnerability analysis
    • Experience with Unit test development using software test frameworks, including CppUnit, GMock, and pytest
    • Experience with integrating software systems
    • Experience with reverse engineering
    • Experience with DevOps using CI /CD tools, including Jenkins or Bamboo, Python scripting, pipeline development, build systems, and automation
    • Experience with Splu nk
    • Knowledge of common protocols and standards, including network protocols analysis and te chniques, including TCP, UDP, and Proprietary
    • Knowledge of requirements analysis and configuration management

    Clearance:

    Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193, annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
