Job description
We have an opportunity for an Estimating Technical Specialist in Glen Allen, VA.Primary Responsibilities:
Develop project estimates in SUCCESS (RIB US Cost Success) to assist substation engineering team
Collaborate with team to ensure accuracy of estimates
Review the estimating database accuracy and update it as required
Create/Review technical drawings (Substation Layout and one-line Diagram)
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math, Architecture or other technical discipline; Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of preferred degree
2-5 years' experience estimating projects
Ability to read, interpret plan and elevation drawings.
Some knowledge of construction (substation construction, any type of utility, civil/ site development)
Familiarity with SAP, scheduling, or finance management
SAGE knowledge and/ or experience is preferred
AutoCAD and Microstation experience is a plus
Knowledge of any estimating software is a plus
Willing to learn process/standards but share their ideas
Evidence of good collaboration with team members
Planning, organizational and project management skills
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks
Effective time management and decision-making skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
