JOB PURPOSE:


The purpose of the Program Manager role is to ensure efficient program operations, and promote sustainability of the corresponding department by supervising the implementation and coordination efforts of the team.

None


NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff and students both within the department and University-wide


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Plan, develop, administer, and coordinate new or revised program goals and objectives; implement approved program policies and procedures
  • Perform specialized administrative functions, including research and analysis, program coordination, monitoring, data collection, reports, and recommends program changes
  • Ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with priorities, time and funding limitations, or other specifications
  • Develop and schedule a program work plan in accordance with specifications, objectives, and funding limitations; oversee daily operations
  • Coordinate program activities through delegation of assignments
  • Recommend additional equipment and resources for the program
  • Prepare ad hoc reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status, or related special reports for the respective department
  • Confer with and advise staff, students, and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretation
  • Monitor or track projects milestones and deliverables within the corresponding department
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings related to information technology projects
  • Assess current or future customer needs and priorities through communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methods
  • Evaluate program effectiveness to develop and implement new or improved methods; devise and implement evaluation methodologies
  • Ability to prepare and manage budget and resources
  • Conduct research as appropriate to define projects or initiatives within the work unit
  • Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of the department's program. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
  • Review program documents to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to the respective department
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings, or conferences with high impact on the team; coordinate logistics, scheduling and participant communications
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 57 years of related work experience
  • Program Management experience (higher education setting preferred)
  • 12 years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications
