The University of Cologne is one of the largest and most research-intensive universities in Germany, offering a diverse range of subjects.

With its six faculties and interfaculty centers, it provides a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines and internationally renowned areas of expertise, supported by its administration through its services.


The procurement department of the University of Cologne is located in the Department of Economics and Finance and is divided into operational and strategic procurement. The vacant position is to be filled in the area of strategic procurement. Here, you will be responsible for tenders and procurement law examinations across all product categories.

YOUR TASKS:


  • Conducting complex procurement procedures, especially EU procurement procedures
  • Processing, monitoring and controlling procurements with a value of 25,000 € net or more
  • Advising and methodically supporting the departments in developing the necessary documents for conducting tenders
  • Developing market and productspecific procurement strategies
  • Expanding and maintaining supplier management

YOUR PROFILE:


  • Completed degree with a business focus or at least 5 years of professional experience in procurement after successfully completing a commercial apprenticeship
  • Experience in strategic procurement
  • Preferably sound knowledge of procurement law (especially EU procurement procedures)
  • SAP user knowledge, preferably in the area of materials management / logistics
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills
