Job Description

We are a top-tier oral surgery practice that is dedicated to providing exceptional care for our patients and top-notch service to our referring doctors. We are in search of a dynamic, diligent, empathetic team player to join us in expanding the practice and continuing to meet the oral surgery needs of our community. Prior experience in oral surgery is beneficial but not mandatory.

The role of the Surgical Assistant is pivotal in delivering outstanding patient care, resulting in optimal clinical results and meeting the requirements of our patients.

Hours:

Tuesday: 7:45am-1:00pm
Wednesday: 7:45am-1:00pm
Thursday: 7:45am-1:00pm
Friday: 6:45am-2:30pm

Role and Responsibilities

The Surgical Assistant will assist surgeons during procedures by executing tasks such as tissue retraction, setting up intravenous lines, and handling documentation.

Performs preoperative and postoperative tasks to aid in patient care.
Confirms patient identity and surgical sites.
Communicates with the surgeon about the surgical procedure details including consent and exposure methods.
Maintains aseptic technique during procedures.
Ensures a clear operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, and suctioning equipment.
Procures necessary equipment and supplies for procedures.
Prepares and inspects sterile and non-sterile surgical instruments and supplies.
Operates sterilization equipment.
Monitors patient status during procedures.
Takes dental radiographs and imaging.
Completes patient records.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required.
BLS certification necessary or completion within 1 month of hiring.
Minimum one year of related experience preferred.
DAANCE certification preferred.
Licensed dental assistant preferred.
Radiology certification preferred.
