    Description

    Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, the newly created Associate Director for Affinity Engagement is responsible for the oversight of programs and communications that engage and support alumni through their shared interests, identities, and experiences. Working on a dedicated team of Advancement professionals, the Associate Director will create a strategy and plan to strengthen existing volunteer-driven affinity groups and identify and prioritize new opportunities for connection outside of traditional channels of class and regional clubs. The Associate Director will play an integral role in supporting the success of the pillars of Aspire, the College's strategic plan.

    Essential Functions:
    • Support and develop events, communications, and volunteer structures for existing identity and activity-based affinity groups, e.g., LGBTQ+ Alumni Network, O'Callahan NROTC Society, HCAA Bishop Healy Committee (alumni of color)
    • Work with alumni to identify and prioritize new alumni-defined opportunities for connection outside of traditional channels of class and regional clubs
    • Establish an annual plan for affinity engagement and assessment
    • Recruit and train volunteers and provide oversight and direction for short and long-term goals.
    • Develop digital communications strategies for engaging alumnae/i around shared affinities
    • Manage event logistics from inception to completion.
    • Work in close collaboration with campus partners (e.g. Student Development, Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) to develop opportunities for alumni engagement with students, specific to identity and activity-based affinities.
    • Staff and support HCAA Board of Directors subcommittees and initiatives as appropriate.
    • Travel to events, including some nights and weekends
    • Work in collaboration with Annual Giving to support current and potential fundraising initiatives in support of affinities and solicit key volunteer leaders for annual gifts
    • Develop programming as part of large-scale department and divisional programs including Reunion and Homecoming weekends.
    • Ensure that affinity programming is in alignment with College priorities, including strategic planning and fundraising campaigns.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • 3-5 years of experience in higher education (preference given to alumni relations or student-facing experience) or non-profit volunteer management
    • Experience creating and supporting a diverse array of programs and events, both in-person and online.
    • Proven success in volunteer management and leading through influence.
    • Experience building relationships and working effectively with a multigenerational and diverse population.
    • Excellent organizational, communications, and strategic planning skills.
    • Strong customer-service orientation.
    • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
    • Track record of taking initiative and driving new projects through to completion.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to function effectively and flexibly in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    This is a full time, exempt level position. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The College also offers a competitive benefits package for full-time staff, including:
