    Job Description:


    Essential Role: As the Leadership Giving Officer for Athletics at Assumption University, you will focus on cultivating relationships with alumni, parents, and friends interested in supporting athletics with significant donations. Your responsibilities include identifying potential donors, fostering relationships, soliciting donations, and maintaining accurate donor records. Collaboration with key stakeholders is crucial, particularly within the NCAA Division II athletics program.


    The ideal candidate will exude positivity, adaptability, and thrive in a dynamic environment. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, and a deep appreciation for the impact of athletics on student life are essential. Additionally, a profound understanding of philanthropy and a knack for working with diverse personalities are highly valued.



    Responsibilities:


    • Conduct a minimum of 150 face-to-face meetings annually to engage, solicit, or steward donors, both on and off-campus.
    • Collaborate with various campus members to advance fundraising efforts, focusing on building relationships within the Athletic Department.
    • Develop customized donor strategies, encompassing annual giving and planned giving where suitable.
    • Lead assigned projects and events, such as the Week of Giving and affinity reunions, providing direction and support as needed.
    • Establish metrics for engagement, fundraising targets, and database management in coordination with supervisors.
    • Enhance knowledge of Assumption University's programs to effectively communicate institutional priorities and secure financial support.
    • Participate in organizing and executing development activities, alumni gatherings, and other events.


    • Requirements:


    • Must actively align with the University's mission and uphold its Catholic and Assumptionist values.
    • Bachelor's degree is a prerequisite.
    • Three-to-five years' experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or a related field, preferably within higher education.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
    • Willingness to travel frequently.
    • Capacity to manage volunteers and tasks efficiently while upholding ethical standards.
    • Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in all interactions and tasks.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assume new responsibilities.
    • Ability to foster teamwork and lead by example in a collaborative setting.
    • Familiarity with rules and regulations governing development activities.


    • Additional Information:


      Scope:


    • Frequent interaction with various university stakeholders, including the President's Office, alumni, donors, and students.
    • Extensive travel required for donor meetings and engagements, spanning local, regional, and national locations.
