What We're Searching for:

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator for our Chicago Box Plant.

Must be willing to work overtime if needed.

FLSA STATUS:
Non-Exempt (Hourly)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for inventory accuracy
Responsible for maintaining orderliness, safety, and housekeeping in the warehouse and dock area.
Must verify counts as materials leave or enter the warehouse/production area.
Work with shipping and receiving on incoming and outgoing materials.
Work with production planning on issues relating to orders and materials needed for production.
Ensure that all jobs are pulled and ready for the next shift's production run.
Must fill material replenishment requests in a timely manner to avoid production shutdowns.
Ensure that all scrap lists are handled, and all scrap is loaded for removal in a timely manner.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of lift truck including operating lift truck in a safe manner to preclude damage to product, equipment, facility, and personnel.
Ensure that the propane cylinders are in good condition, stored properly and safely, and kept full as required.
Performs periodic routine maintenance checks on the lifts.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum three (3) years of experience working in a warehousing and inventory control.
Basic computer knowledge is essential.
Reading, writing, and mathematical skills
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
