What We're Searching for:

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator for our Chicago Box Plant.

Must be willing to work overtime if needed.


FLSA STATUS:
Non-Exempt (Hourly)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for inventory accuracy
  • Responsible for maintaining orderliness, safety, and housekeeping in the warehouse and dock area.
  • Must verify counts as materials leave or enter the warehouse/production area.
  • Work with shipping and receiving on incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Work with production planning on issues relating to orders and materials needed for production.
  • Ensure that all jobs are pulled and ready for the next shift's production run.
  • Must fill material replenishment requests in a timely manner to avoid production shutdowns.
  • Ensure that all scrap lists are handled, and all scrap is loaded for removal in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of lift truck including operating lift truck in a safe manner to preclude damage to product, equipment, facility, and personnel.
  • Ensure that the propane cylinders are in good condition, stored properly and safely, and kept full as required.
  • Performs periodic routine maintenance checks on the lifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working in a warehousing and inventory control.
  • Basic computer knowledge is essential.
  • Reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
