This position is located in the Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services, Global Compensation Directorate, Office of Pay Systems (CGFS/GC/PSYS).
The Office of Pay Systems leads automation and improvement initiatives, while supporting all systems utilized by the Global Compensation directorate.

Duties
Responsible for analyzing, identifying, and resolving system issues in accordance with policy, regulations, and stakeholder deadlines in place.
Develops procedures for responding to new threats to systems confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Maintains and documents in-house information technology configurations.
Recommends software procedures for use and identifies and recommends standards and criteria for assessing network server performance.
Ensures the accomplishment of system modifications and enhancements. Redesigns systems to accommodate changes in user requirements, regulations, policies, legislative changes, or new technology.
Advises other specialists and managers on implementation of new or enhanced IT systems including providing on-the-job and formal training for new and revised methods and techniques for resolving IT issues.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience monitoring and documenting systems performance to ensure that procedures and guidelines are followed to eliminate and prevent system disruption.
Experience with Oracle Peoplesoft Applications and record retention systems or workflow.Experience maintaining and documenting in-house information technology configurations and recommending potential areas for enhancing systems reliability and functionality.
Experience managing the installation and integration of new products or equipment.
NOTE:
In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.Education
