Position Summary:


The Parent Partner provides family support and advocacy, helping to model communication skills and problem-solving, while guiding families through the service delivery system.


Core Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Orient caregivers to mental health services.
  • Assist with intakes and referrals for potential new clients, as needed.
  • Represent caregivers by providing essential knowledge and consultation to the treatment team to promote a culture in which the caregiver's point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into treatment approaches and plans.
  • Facilitate selfhelp activities/groups as assigned (i.e. attend resource fairs, Community Partner meetings, etc.).
  • Outreach to community agencies and organizations to be able to offer information to caregivers.
  • Work individually with caregivers in a Parent Partner capacity, as assigned.
  • Assist caregivers to plan and carry out leisure time activities, as appropriate.
  • Must maintain member confidentiality in accordance with Federal, State, and Enki policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Preferred:


  • Parent Partner must have a child or family member who has received mental health services.
  • Demonstrate some knowledge of mental health resources.
  • Experience working with mental health consumers preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications:


  • Valid California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and eligibility to drive for the Company required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to perform in a positive, courteous, flexible and adaptive manner.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  • Computer literate and experienced with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using Exym and/or other Electronic Medical Record databases is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both orally and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a level of progression toward selfsufficiency.
  • Ability to advocate for members; or to be a mentor; comfortable sharing own experiences in appropriate ways for the benefit of assisting others.
  • Ability to keep boundaries when working to assist members.
  • Able to and comfortable with utilizing public transportation.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:


  • See well enough (with or without corrected vision) to read fine print, handwritten materials, and a computer screen.
  • Speak and hear well enough (with or without assistive device) to converse in person and by telephone.
  • Finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms, including ability to use a computer keyboard.
  • Have the mobility (with or without assistive device) to stand, sit, crouch, and move from one work area to another.
  • Have the strength to lift, carry or push office equipment and supplies used in normal job functions up to 20 lbs.
  • Stamina to effectively perform work activities.

Pay Range:
$16.00-$26.00/Hour (Determined by Experience & Qualifications)
