    Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    We're looking for an experienced Power BI Administrator to support the Big Data and Analytics department at client.

    The Power BI Administrator will be responsible for administering the Power BI Service including Premium in support of 700 plus users.

    The candidate will work closely with members of the Big Data team including business customers to understand the reporting needs required by the Power BI Service.


    Responsibilities:

    Responsible for providing full Power BI service administration - user management, workspace management, gateway administration, data source creation, monitoring, and troubleshootingMigrate from Pro licensing to Premium licensing including converting workspaces, premium capacity monitoring, configure/manage workloads, and optimizing premium capacitiesdministering and managing the on-premise gateway server including patching and supporting custom connectorsTroubleshoot reporting/connectivity issues related to gatewayssist in performance tuning of reports using Tabular Editor or DAX StudioWork with data owners and report developers to support their needs in the best way possibleGrow and integrate Power BI Service by designing and deploying workspaces, data models, app tiers, gateways, report services, dashboard supportWorking in Power BI admin portal set up tenant settings, set organization visuals, and more.

    Utilize PowerShell and REST APIs to retrieve metadata, data refreshes, usage metrics and auditingBe able to access and work on Power BI licensing, subscriptions, or audit logsConfigure data gateways for access to multiple data sources across the enterprise

    Qualifications:
    Preferably should have Technical/Science Graduation degree with specialization in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering or related disciplinet least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Data, BI, Insights, Reporting domain3+ years of Power BI Service, On-Premise Data Gateway, and Report Server AdministrationExperience with Power BI for Compliance, Auditing, Data Privacy, Data Classification, Security and Controlling Access to Power BIExperience in business analysis and requirements gatheringGood communication skills to interact with team members, support personnel, and provide technical guidance and expertise to customers and managementbility to work in a self-directed work environment

    Good to have:
    Experience with CMD and PowerShell scripting for automation.
    Good analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of applicationsExperience with Azure AD and O365 admin
