• Support the ministerial work of the organization by showing kindness and grace to our clients, donors, volunteers, and other staff.

• Effectively collaborate with Food Warehousing Supervisor and other Operations staff.
• Work closely with Meal Services to ensure food inventory list is available so meals can be planned.
• Communicate effectively with others including guests, donors, staff and volunteers.

• Receive food and other products and stock and organize the YUGM Food Warehouse.
• Lift, move, load, and unload necessary items repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Driving YUGM box trucks/vehicles to pick up and receive food service donations from community partners, including both individual donors and businesses.
• Creating a positive donation experience for our donors and partners by greeting them, quickly picking up and/or unloading donations, generating receipts, demonstrating flexibility, and thanking the donors.
• Assist Food Warehousing Supervisor by helping coordinate, pick-up, transport, store and deliver donations to the correct departments.
• Collaborate with YUGM Meal Services team for kitchen needs.
• Coordinate with community food banks and farmer partners to ensure the best use of donated food.
• Maintain YUGM cleanliness standards within YUGM Warehouse areas.
• Perform and adhere to all safety standards and protocols to help ensure a safe work environment.
• Prepare trucks before pick-up runs and unload trucks after pick-ups.
• Load and unload gaylords, wooden crates, rolling totes, boxes and bags using an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, forklifts, and by hand.
• Drive YUGM cars, vans, pick-up trucks, and box trucks as needed.
• Proactively seek opportunities to pray with, encourage and display the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) and YUGMs Core Values to employees, volunteers, programmers, clients and others to whom we represent YUGM.
• As needed, handle the receiving of donations with the utmost respect and care including, greeting the donor, assisting in moving donations, telling the Yakima Union Gospel Mission story and repeating details back to donor while reflecting YUGM's core values.
• Attend, as requested or required, all YUGM training and meetings scheduled by the management team to keep current on any safety or policy changes, new procedures, and other information essential to performing the job.
• Other duties as assigned in support of YUGM's mission, vision, and values.

• High School diploma/GED.
• Washington State Driver's License (current).
• Washington State Food Worker Card.
• Warehousing experience preferred.
• Must have fundamental computer and software skills to input job details, search online for materials/supplies and research appropriate task guidelines.
• Ability to operate equipment including forklifts, box trucks, pallet jacks, dock levelers, and other warehouse related equipment.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills, high level of professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality required.
• Ability to work independently under the pressure of deadlines, interruptions, and changing priorities while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
• Reliable, resourceful, and flexible.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Work well and effectively in a collaborative, team environment, and with volunteers.
• Ability to work alongside and/or oversee volunteers and program clients who come from a variety of backgrounds – cultural, economic, and those in addiction recovery.
