Ability to offer religious and spiritual rituals as requested by patients and/or staff. When appropriate, ability to refer to outside clergy to meet patient sacramental or religious rites needs.
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule that supports various entities/locations based upon patient volumes and operational needs.
What You Will Do Patient care:
Provide professional pastoral and spiritual care to patients and their loved ones, using excellent listening, observational, assessment, and interventional skills.
Assess patient and family spiritual resources and vulnerabilities, offering corresponding interventions. Document care in electronic medical record, using Pastoral Care standardized processes. Ability to respond to calls within 10 minutes and arrive within 30 minutes. Provide on-call report when called into the hospital.Support Pastoral Care Department:
Report payroll exceptions promptly. Participate in Pastoral Care staff meetings. Be knowledgeable of and comply with all Pastoral Care Department policies and procedures. Complete required Pastoral Care Department training and any MyTalent modules when assigned.
When providing in-house coverage, participate in the ritual life of the hospital, e.g., FINAL SALUTEs, memorial services, award ceremonies, and other similar celebrations and special events within the hospital.
