About the role:

Distill is seeking a Business Operations Associate who will report to the CEO.

This is a key role in the company coming in at the ground level to help set up initial systems and business process, as well as play an important role setting the direction of the company.

You'll be responsible for doing just about everything to support our growing business and our CEO's top initiatives.

You'll use data to inform our strategy, create hiring and growth plans, and add horsepower and execution to achieve results across the company.

You'll get to wear all the hats.

You'll get a front-row seat to every aspect of scaling a startup alongside a CEO and team who have had multiple exits and can help mentor and develop your career.

If you're excited about impactful hours, hard work, learning things you've never done before, and enjoying every milestone of the startup environment, then come check out the deep end of the pool.

We're ready to meet you.

What you'll do:

  • Build out early business functions and prepare a process and playbook to scale them.
  • Manage the daytoday operations of Distill, both for ongoing areas and oneoffs with procurement, compliance, taxes, etc.
  • Lead projects with internal and external stakeholders around marketing, business operations, hiring and initial product launch.
  • Own our early hiring process and execution as we build out our initial team of technical talent, including implementing how we hire abroad and decide which countries we support.
  • Take part in brainstorming, planning and execution on new and existing initiatives.

What we're seeking:

Must have:

  • You're looking for growth and development in your next career opportunity.
  • 3+ years of experience in an early stage startup, or have been a startup founder.
  • Alternatively 3+ years of toptier consulting, banking, and/or private equity experience.
  • Clear rationale for joining an earlystage startup in an operating role with more work and less pay than larger companies.
  • Demonstrated excellence in all previous academic and professional experiences.
  • US work authorization is required, we do not support visa transfers.
  • Based remote in NYC; willing to come into an office once we get one.
  • Extremely high discipline and work ethic, you're pressuretested and know how to deal with ambiguity to create great outcomes.
  • Keep the team organized and accountable; you must be inherently well organized yourself.
  • Track record of bringing people together, rallying them around a common goal.

Nice to have:

  • You're super organized, can think ahead and anticipate what's next. You're always ready for an unforeseen challenge and get creative, not discouraged, when there are obstacles.
  • You're a builder and love creating process out of ambiguity, embracing change and seeking new ways to do things. No problem getting projects off the ground from 0
  • Excellent communication skills and experience presenting.
  • Interest in B2B, product lead growth.
  • Experience working with product or engineering.

Compensation Range:
$100K - $150K
