- Analyze Operations, design workflows and production processes, aiming to reduce waste, increase efficiency and ensure that final products meet established quality standards.
- Study operations sequence, material flow organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities for manufacturing employees.
- Support process improvements including researching for new equipment
- Assist and document product manufacturing issues including identifying root cause and recommending corrective action steps to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Assist in the qualification of new manufacturing methods including outlining detailed qualification plans and key qualification parameters to result in the formal presentation of IQ/OQ/PQ.
- Support the production team by answering engineering related questions regarding functionality and capabilities.
- Assist production employees and the company maintenance team to troubleshoot and solve problems in the manufacturing area.
- Ability to keep accurate timing in regards to estimated hours for a project to be finalized.
- Train staff on new processes and provide instruction and manuals.
- Evaluate new components, check engineering drawings and approve specifications
- Set up new components in ERP & related systems
- Schedule and document line trials to ensure that new components and processes are scalable and efficiently integrated
- Manage log of equipment inventory, assign new equipment IDs
- Support process automation by implementing programs in spreadsheets or other tools and software
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

General Summary
The Process Engineer I conducts studies related to process efficiency within a section of their plant or the entire facility, as well as to examine the rates of current production and manufacturing processes by looking at factors such as speed, quality control and worker safety. The position also supports continuous improvement to manufacturing by collecting, auditing and reviewing manufacturing data and developing projects to improve methods of manufacture. The Process Engineer I is also in charge of evaluating new components as part of the New Product Development process to ensure these are compatible with the existing equipment and processes. The position also may serve as an in-house consultant on engineering issues in other departments for new projects using methodologies to organize worker's training, staffing and scheduling changes, or using new machine tools or maintenance on existing hardware; this might include research and purchase assessing costs to optimize decisions.
