If you enjoy engaging in high-profile projects supporting our U.S Naval Ships, Serco has a great opportunity for you Serco is hiring an Project Leader to be part of a dynamic team supporting our US.

Navy customer.

Serco supports the US Navy to deliver outstanding and quality of work aboard the U.S Navy Ships.

The Technical Project Leader will support program managers by providing program-level assistance to the Systems Integration & Installation programs to ensure deliverables and performance parameters are met.


You will be part of a team that works closely with the Navy and other Serco team members on-board U.S.

Naval Ships located in the beautiful surroundings of Newport News, VA. Bring your expertise and grow with a company supporting our military defense.


In this role, you will:


  • Provide direction on projects from inception through completion and provides technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the technical requirements of the contract for the customer.
  • Manage and coordinates technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks.
  • Evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of actual and planned task schedules and resource requirements.
  • Review work for quality assurance.
  • Compose memorandum, reports, and other documentation highlighting project steps and status for daily and weekly meetings with customer.
  • Attend meetings and makes presentations about project status and work commitments.
  • Ensure training of all staff members and instructs them on customer's methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluate, develop, or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and takes corrective action.
  • Review employee schedules and timecards.
  • Participate in longrange planning, analysis, and program design.
  • Participate in the planning and design of new projects as requested.
  • Conduct complex work important to the organization.
  • Work with mínimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years direct experience.
  • The ability to be able to obtain and gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation and pass a drug screening.
  • Knowledge of DoD program execution, including scheduling, data gathering and analysis, or government contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to use and create spreadsheets, reports and presentations.
  • Be able to effectively multitask and thrive in a fastpaced dynamic production environment.
  • Be able to handle ambiguity and changing priorities in a fastpaced environment and capable of developing appropriate solutions to emergent issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn new program functional skills and tasks.
  • The ability to travel 10%.
