Join our team as a Project Engineer (PE) and take the lead on exciting, large-scale projects that challenge your technical expertise and leadership skills.
As a key member of our engineering department, you'll work closely with the Chief Engineer and Project Manager to define and manage the resources, schedule, and costs for our cutting-edge projects.
Collaborating with diverse teams across our organization, including QA, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, you'll provide crucial engineering support throughout the manufacturing, integration, and testing phases.
With your guidance, our engineering team will deliver high-quality solutions from initial concept to successful completion, ensuring project and production availability align with customer specifications.
Capable of developing and leading a small engineering team through a complex submarine overhaul.Ability to work as part of a team of managers and technical personnel and support multiple projects.
Independently performs difficult engineering tasks to completion that may include a variety of complex features, conflicting design requirements, unusual materials requirements, and the need to coordinate the work of others.
Uses team management skills to lead the design or production engineering group during various phases of a project or availability.
Reviews Engineering Work Packages (e.g. TGIs) related to project.Reviews/answers/approves Engineering Change documents (e.g. CRs, LARs, DFSs) related to project.
Assist in Bid and Proposal efforts including cost estimating, technical approach definition, and input to baseline schedule data.
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Ocean or Nuclear) or Naval Architecture from accredited college or university; master's degree in related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years engineering experience in complex systems design, manufacturing, and integration environment.Knowledge related to submarine structural fabrication and welding requirements such as NAVSEA Tech Pub 1688, 278, or 248 and the NAVSEA URO/MRC program desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of military, and commercial, construction and material specifications applicable to Submarine and Deep Submergence System work.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required. Working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks or similar packages, is preferred.
