As a Safety Coordinator, you will assist with initiating WC & insurance claims, reporting, tracking, maintaining safety records and assist with safety training.

The Safety Coordinator upholds and supports all safety rules, policies and regulations in the assigned region as set forth by the company standards and under the guidelines of the local branch leadership.

He/she is involved in day-to-day safety trainings, Monthly OSHA trainings, and equipment certification training as needed.

_Must be bilingual in Spanish & English and be proactive in partnering with the crew members and branch management to create a cohesive & continuous safety environment for all._

_Essential Duties of a Safety Coordinator will include, but not limited to_:

  • Initiates claims (workers comp, insurance carrier, OSHA), writes reports, maintains accident log, provides reoccurring reports, maintains and manages all safety related files
  • Assists with ongoing safety training and conducts safety tailgate talks with crews & management
  • Works with branch operations team to meet safety goal by attending branch meetings and will travel to field sites to observe, provide feedback & train crew members on safety protocols
  • Prepares meeting minutes, producing reports, and other internal support materials as needed
  • Assist with any specific safety projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE that are necessary as a Safety Coordinator will include, but not limited to:

  • Must be bilingual English & Spanish
  • Strong communications skills; both verbal and written & able to communicate effectively with all team members from crew to management
  • Must be proactive in providing safety updates and able to collaborate and partner with branch leadership and crew members on safety practices
  • Must be selfdriven and work independently with a high attention to detail and able to meet deadlines
  • Must possess good time management skills with strong followup skills and able to complete reports and claims in a timely manner
  • Must be solutions oriented and collaborative when partnering with crews and branch operations in creating a positive safety environment for all
  • Proficient skills in MS Office programs Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • High School or GED
  • 2+ years of related experience in Safety within the landscape or construction industry is highly preferred
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
