    Job DescriptionSenior Software Engineer - Fraud
    Full stack engineers at DefenseStorm work on all aspects of our data-intensive web application. Engineers work on impactful projects, and have a voice not just in technical decisions, but in team and product decisions as well. We are looking for individuals that are technically-skilled, creative, and collaborative. Senior engineers are expected to mentor less experienced colleagues. We work hard to maintain a work culture that is fun, professional, and low-stress, while maintaining a high level of productivity and high engineering standards.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities
    • Build and maintain highly-available distributed systems
    • Maintain a security-first, engineering done right culture
    • Debug complex problems and performance issues
    • Participate in review process for other engineers and oneself
    • Take opportunities for education and growth
    • Build and accept consensus in technical disputes
    • Participate in the development and application of engineering policies and practices
    • Work with product managers, engineers, and customers to build products to detect and prevent fraud
    • Develop engineering solutions meeting this criteria:
      • Aligned with company priorities and goals
      • Scalable, reliable and secure
      • Meet customer needs
    • Ability to lead the design, develop and deployment of complex engineering systems
    • Engage in customer support interactions
    • Develop professional skills by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
    • Communicate project and task status to management and peers
    • Mentor Junior Engineers
    • Other duties as assigned by management
    Required Education and Experience
    • Over 5 years of software development experience
    • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required
    • Expertise in cloud and distributed systems
    • Experience working on full-stack products
    • Excellent interpersonal and strong technical skills
    Preferred Education and Experience
    • Experience with Elasticsearch
    • Experience working in cybersecurity
    • Experience with Java 8+
    • Experience with modern JS frameworks
