Criminal defense law clerk/paralegal
Two busy Center City criminal defense lawyers are looking for a paralegal or law clerk


The responsibilities would include:

• Answering and returning phone calls from clients, potential clients, court personnel, and others,
• Drafting correspondence and basic legal filings,
• Legal research and writing where applicable,
• Assistance with tracking deadlines, calendars, and organizing,
• Case review and preparation,
• Client intake,
• Filing legal documents with the courts,
• Basic legal errands like printing, mailing, and picking up documents,
• Other tasks as required to assist attorneys.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in legal research methods and tools like Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client interaction
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Familiarity with litigation procedures and legal document preparation
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Professional, dependable, and motivated

This would be a good position for an experienced paralegal or a part-time or night law student. There would be some opportunities to observe criminal court as well. Compensation, benefits, and level of responsibility commensurate with experience.
