- Works with the Projects Sustainability Manager to build and implement the Corporate Sustainability Management System, including drafting processes and procedures.
- Supports compliance readiness activities for ESG reporting, including EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), California's Climate legislation and other global requirements.
- Monitors global ESG disclosure obligations, emerging regulation and evolving reporting practices, working with business partners to address gaps.
- Collaborates with colleagues cross-functionally to integrate ESG information across reporting systems and into disclosure documents.
- Develops business case studies and cost/benefit analysis of sustainability initiatives such as GHG reductions, energy conservation, and social impact at the project level.
- Develop presentations and workshop materials to facilitate leadership and staff workshops for various internal clients and project deliverables.
- Supports Sustainability internal communications priorities, including, creating and maintaining an editorial calendar, writing and producing multi-media content, managing approvals and engagement across internal channels.
- Research and identify external sustainability award and granting opportunities, developing high-quality submissions annually.
- Works with facility and project managers to identify and implement opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions related to office and project electricity consumption.
- Develops guidance to enhance sustainability performance in home offices and projects. Leads and supports training and development programs for sustainability.
- Anticipates and manages sustainability issues, with particular emphasis on issues that have, or have the potential to, impact Bechtel's reputation.
- Interfaces with external organizations as directed by the Projects Sustainability Manager.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources, creating easy-to-understand original content.
- Working experience with ESG data collection and validation preferred.
- Knowledgeable in TCFD, ISSB, and other ESG reporting frameworks.
- Experience developing plans and implementing processes and procedures.
- University degree in sustainability, sustainable finance, environmental science or related field and three-to-five years' experience in sustainability or a related field
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in supporting regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of internal control processes, accounting practices and audit and assurance is a plus.
- Database management, reporting, graphics and presentations, template, and spreadsheet development is a plus.
- Self-starter who can learn new concepts with minimal support.
- Skilled at working collaboratively with others in a complex integrated environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.

Job Summary
:Under general supervision, supports Bechtel's ESG regulatory reporting and Sustainability programs. Primary responsibilities include supporting design and implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Management System and associated processes and procedures, supporting compliance readiness activities for ESG reporting, monitoring global ESG disclosure obligations, and working with business partners to support Bechtel's sustainability goals. The successful candidate's responsibilities include supporting the Projects Sustainability Manager and Corporate Sustainability Manager in the development of sustainable development strategic planning. This includes working cross functionally to coordinate ESG reporting and communications initiatives and other sustainability programs.
The selected candidate must be able to work a hybrid schedule located at either our Reston, VA, or Houston, TX office. There is no relocation authorized for this position.#LI-KL1
