- Must be a licensed MD or DO in the State of Texas and board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics

- Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer-reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity
- Record of professional service appropriate to the discipline
