Essential Job Functions and Duties
Inventory Management:
- Stockroom services (material handling, purchasing/order entry/inventory management, material shipment and receipt).
- Routinely register, update, and monitor inventory levels at vendor locations.
- Manage all laboratory related supplies and resources.
- Lab supply replenisment and disbursements: working with R&D, order required materials, track and follow up on orders, disburses inventory as necessary to support R&D requirements.
- Assure proper storage and organization of supplies in designated storage areas.
- Maintains the cell inventory stored under cryogenic conditions.
- Conducts inventory audits and inspection for safety and organization.
- Develops SOPs, organizational plans, checklists, etc. to support and document the work performed.
Budget Management:
- Assists laboratory managers with development of supply and laboratory equipment budgets.
- Provides materials purchasing, laboratory expenditure reports as requested.
- Share/report purchase/expenditure information with accounting/finance departments, as necessary.
- Assists with the tracking, documentation, and tabulation of invoices related to established SOWs, service agreements and purchase orders.
Laboratory Support:
- Submits internal approval requests for both manufacturing and laboratory departments.
- Schedules and manages laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance services in line with established procedures, contracts, and when necessary.
- Maintains laboratory utility supply levels as necessary (i.e., liquid nitrogen, dry ice, etc.)
- Prepares and arranges local, national, and international shipments of R&D and manufacturing materials.
Miscellaneous:
- Assists in the monthly activity of collecting and reviewing employee timesheets for submission to HR and accounting/finance departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Minimum of an associate of science degree.
- Demonstrated ability with inventory management, shipping/receiving, and customer service.
- Ability to follow well defined procedures such as SOP's and work instructions.
Experience in a laboratory setting or life sciences industry preferred
:
- Capable of using a computer and inventory software (SAP, QuickBooks, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word).
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Detail oriented problem solver, promoting a team environment, and excels with minimum supervision.
