Overview:
Centra Diagnostics is looking for a Medical Biller to join our rapidly growing toxicology laboratory located in Los Angeles. For a decade now, we've been serving our community to make healthcare better and more reliable. Our mission is to improve health by providing quality, accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Utilize medical coding to ensure compliance with federal regulations and insurance requirements
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Investigate and appeal denied claims
- Maintain patient billing records
Experience:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical records, and medical billing procedures
- Knowledge of DRG systems, ICD10 coding, and medical collections
- Experience working in a medical office setting
- Strong understanding of medical coding practices
- Communicates effectively with all levels of staff
- Maintains composure while working under high pressure
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to adapt to change
Pay:
$ $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
