Job Summary:


The
Part-Time Facilities Assistant helps provide day-to-day general cleaning, event setup and breakdown, and light maintenance on The Pride Center at Equality Park campus.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide daily and ongoing minor maintenance, minor repairs, and general cleaning of Equality Park facilities, including main buildings, warehouse, and grounds.
  • Provide periodic cleaning and organization of warehouses and grounds.
  • Assist with minor maintenance/repairs of Equality Park facilities, as needed.
  • Troubleshoot facilitiesrelated repairs and challenges, as needed.
  • Assist the Customer Service Manager and the Facilities Coordinator to ensure the provision of setup and cleaning services for events related to the rental of the main hall and group rooms.
  • Monitor the work of contractors onsite for progress in performing tasks and recommend to the Facilities Coordinator if the contractor's work fails to meet the requirements.
  • Ensure that public areas on the Equality Park campus are functional, clean, welcoming, and useful.
  • Effectively communicate to the Facilities Coordinator any needs related to adequate inventory, ordering, and use of maintenance and repair supplies.
  • Provide regular, healthy communication to staff, tenants, and renters about the status of repairs and facility needs that impact their program and services.
  • Attend regular campus "walkthroughs" with the Facilities Coordinator to ensure adequate cleaning, maintenance, and repairs throughout Equality Park.
  • Oversee facilities operations in the absence of the Facilities Coordinator.
  • Work two (2) full weekends per month and up to four (4) evenings per week. Evening hours will be scheduled between 4:00 PM 10:00 PM unless additional hours are required for a special event. The schedule will be determined at least one (1) week in advance by the Facilities and Technology Manager.

Professional Experience/Skills:


  • Proven skills in industrial cleaning or maintenance
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work by myself and achieve deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a handson environment with limited resources. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment, including vacuum and carpet cleaners.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to walk stairs and climb a ladder.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move equipment.
  • Energetic and willing to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, nights, or weekends.
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • Good communicator, comfortable and credible with people at all levels, and able to create and sustain lasting customer relationships.
