Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Health Representative, Per Diem - Bilingual English/Spanish - Mineola.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct community and/or patient outreach by attending and/or coordinating health fairs, community forums, etc.
- Assist in the creation of culturally specific handouts, flyers, and other materials related to the study.
- Develop new and foster existing relationships with community and/or patient population to support study recruitment and enrollment.
- Conduct intake or interviews/surveys with patients; keep participants motivated and engaged in the program or study.
- Keep organized patient material, including logs, data files, and data entry.
- Attend trainings as required by NYULH, funding agency, and/or research study team.
- Work as part of a research team
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; Experience in community settings; Effective Oral, written communication and interpersonal skills; Empathetic, reliable, resourceful, and strong desire to help people.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of work and/or volunteer in community-based clinical or social service delivery. Familiarity with community-based organizations, community leaders, and community resources. Available to work evenings and weekends. Available to travel throughout Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island. Ability to juggle priorities and manage time; work well under pressure. Good advocacy and community organizing skills. Basic computer knowledge/skills required. Strong organizational skills. Works well with a wide range of people. Strictly adhere to data privacy and confidentiality protocols. Handle particpant information securely and in compliance with relevant regulations
