    The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical control integrity and functionality of all manufacturing equipment used in the production of writing instruments.


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Design electrical control systems for automated assembly and packaging equipment per OSHA standards and NFPA '79 guidelines.

    Write programs for programmable logic controllers.

    Understand, annotate, and modify existing PLC programs while having limited supporting documentation.

    Troubleshooting robotics systems and applications

    Specify and program A/C servo systems

    Electrically evaluate safety measures on new and existing processes

    Approve electrical designs on all new equipment

    Design, setup, and program human machine interfaces

    Integrate new levels of automation into existing processes

    Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to design and apply new system processes

    Drive standardization of electrical components in all manufacturing processes

    Optimize machine performance electrically to maximize overall equipment effectiveness

    Design and implement control enhancements to maximize product quality

    Assist the maintenance staff in diagnosing problems with manufacturing equipment and implementing solutions

    Train maintenance technicians to upgrade their electrical knowledge skill set

    REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE,


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Requirements also include a working knowledge of machine design, AC/DC motor controls, AC/DC servo systems, and a familiarity with NFPA'79.

    ·

    Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and human machine interfaces

    ·

    Knowledge of Omron PLCs, and human machine interfaces are considered a plus.

    ·

    Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills in addition to strong organizational and planning skills.

    ·


    Candidate must also be a self-starter and team oriented player with a strong self-initiative, able to work with minimal supervision and take a proactive approach to problem solving.

    ·

    Working knowledge of Python, C++ and Networking


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EXPERIENCE:
    ·


    4 Year Degree in Engineering, with 5+ years hands-on experience, in design of programming, implementing, and troubleshooting PLC based controls platforms on high-speed assembly equipment.
