The Office of the Bursar is a support service department in the Division of Administration and Finance.Within the Office of the Bursar there are four key areas of operation:
Accounts Receivable, Cashiering, Account Counseling and OneCard ID Services. Each of these operations provides services and support to NIU students, commercial customers and other NIU departments.
This is a seasonal part-time (extra help) position from May - September to assist the OneCard Office with summer orientations, operations and the start of the Fall 24 term.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITESAssist with the day-to-day front desk operations of the OneCardAssist with processing and creating university identification cards (OneCard ID).Process Huskie Bucks Deposits for students and employees using a Point of Sale (POS).Balance office register at the end of the day.
Assist with taking photos and passing out cards at Orientations and other campus eventsMaintain confidentiality with regard to cardholder information.
Data entry and filing of OneCard related documentsMonitor Lost ID cards that are turned into the office by contacting studentsAssist with answering phone calls and emailsREQUIRED SKILLSStrong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students and departmental officials/faculty/staff, ensuring positive and professional customer service.
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Ability to pay attention to details.
Proficiency with computer skills to perform duties and responsibilities using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
Working HoursM - F, 8 am - 4:30 pm
