Job Summary:


We are seeking an enthusiastic, purpose driven, and dedicated individual to join our Marketing team as a
Philanthropy and Events Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of philanthropic initiatives and programs.

You will work closely with the marketing and leadership teams to identify community needs, research potential opportunities, as well as finding ways to increase companywide participation at a market/store level, and within the Houston market.

Additionally, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with organizations and reporting on the impact of philanthropic investments.


This role will also organize Group 1 events, from store Grand Openings in the Houston markets to internal corporate events that connect and engage team members.


We are looking for someone who can effectively evaluate the merits of philanthropic opportunities, clearly communicate why Group 1 will participate in a philanthropic initiative or not and look for creative ways to leverage philanthropy participation into positive perceptions internally and externally with employees, business partners and customers.


Responsibilities:

As an individual contributor in the philanthropy role and events role, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing corporate social responsibility initiatives that align with the company's values and goals.
  • Building relationships with organizations and partners to support philanthropic efforts.
  • Managing and evaluating potential funding and participation opportunities. Finding ways for employees at the store level is key to companywide philanthropy goals.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to leverage resources and maximize impact in the community.
  • Ensure great communications / share outs of philanthropy initiatives and impact in one market with other markets, with the goal of all markets learning best practices.
  • Creating and executing employee engagement programs to promote volunteerism and giving back. Overall, your role would involve creating positive social change and making a difference in the communities where the company operates.
  • Support the development and implementation of philanthropic programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with the coordination of volunteer activities and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support the planning and execution of philanthropy events and campaigns.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in corporate philanthropy.
This role involves some evening and weekend work.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in philanthropy, or related field
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for making a positive impact in the community
