There is a $2.00 shift differential for weekday grave shift.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is located on-site in Layton, Utah.
The Machinist/Mill Technician performs a variety of duties and utilizes multiple skillsets to set up, machine & inspect complex machined components in a 5-axis environment.
Daily tasks include changing & monitoring cutting tools, part inspection (laser and manual inspection), machine operation, part loading and routine machine maintenance.
Machinists/Mill Technicians are expected to support other activities as needed to include but not limited to deburring, part detailing and assembly.
The following essential job functions are performed as a Mill Technician:Attention to detail and quality is required
Reads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders
Must be able to recognize and report machine problems and difficulties
Understanding of mill gauging procedures
Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads
Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices
Sets up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction
Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities
Performs prescribed maintenance on machines and facilities as required
Knowledge of common hand tools
Works in other Cells to support Production as required, ie; Mold Fab or Assembly Cells
Performs on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required
Compliance with 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
Performs other duties as assigned
This position may require the ability to obtain a security clearance with special program access.
Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Three years (3) of machining/mill experience preferred.
Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred.
Must have the ability to read, understand and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Wage range for this role is between $20 - $48 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits.
