About the Role Position Summary**The F&B Pricing Manager is responsible for the overall process of establishing profitable and consistent pricing within the Food and Beverage Division as well as managing gross profit for both domestic and international business. The Pricing Manager interacts with Sales, the Business Units, Purchasing, and Management to increase profitability on all F&B products especially when threatened by escalating production & raw material costs and current economic situations. The Pricing Manager performs ongoing profitability analysis to pro-actively anticipate GP issues and take steps to remediate and reverse GP erosion. Sales/GP reports are reviewed monthly and price increases are recommended as warranted. Formula cost analysis to be performed as needed to justify proposed price actions.


Duties and Responsibilities
Pricing Functions

  • Sets pricing for all Intercompany and international 3rd party requests, or expired quotes, and loads pricing in SAP.
  • Responsible for annual and intrayear portfolio wide pricing actions.
  • Handles daily pricing requests/issues from Business Support and/or Customer Service regarding open orders, 1st time production alerts, customer requests and affiliate TRAPP pricing requests.
  • Utilizes a tiered pricing structure, assigned product category GP targets and SAP SYMCALC costing to set consistent prices while continually improving profitability by increasing prices as required.
  • Teach, support, embellish good practices in communication of pricing to customer and record keeping with maintenance of all pricing records.
Analysis/Profitability Management Functions

  • Provide account profitability analysis with ongoing review of pricing, Gross Profit and Raw Material costs to identify GP deficiencies on a product basis for all accounts relative to assigned category GP targets.
  • Prepare midyear territory reports for Account Managers, identifying GP erosion and recommending actions to resolve identified GP deficiencies.
  • Update annual account pricing spreadsheets to initiate Budget review process, recommending price increases as warranted, prior to disseminating to account managers for review
  • Use Micro Strategy datamining tool to identify/assess the impact of RM cost changes on individual products and use as one of multiple tools to justify subsequent price actions. Review Key RM list with Purchasing for update in NA Pricing Tool.
  • Work with Cost Accounting to continually identify and resolve product cost issues negatively impacting profitability.
  • Review account projects on an as needed basis with BU Mgrs. to assess pricing and profitability and recommend next steps to resolve issues.
Other relevant duties as required

  • Work to improve processes within the department and between business partners to build a robust F&B Pricing Organization. Develop pricing strategies and tactics together with Business Units and Development, Purchasing, Operations, Sales and Finance to ensure a systematic and continuous price management function.
  • Train new employees required to price, e.g., Account Managers, Business Support, Commercial Managers, in the pricing process.

About You Required Qualifications**- Bachelor's Degree in Finance and/or Business Management or other related area. Master's degree strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 57 years of relevant pricing experience in the flavor industry and/or in global food manufacturing organizations. Flavor Industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum of at least 1 year experience with the pricing processes, production costing/routing and other issues of manufacturing and/or selling organizations.
  • Early warning expertise regarding risk assessment.
  • Experience working with SAP.
