Join our local, family and employee-owned company as a Sales Associate in our JAX Outdoor Gear location in Ames, IA.

Make someone's day by sharing your enthusiasm and excitement for finding just the right clothing or footwear for our customers at JAX

Our Sales Associates are responsible for greeting customers, providing honest and informative answers to questions, making suggestions about products that customers might want, and performing necessary tasks for efficient department operation.

All JAX employees are expected to provide excellent customer service, engaging with people and sharing excitement about our store.

Responsibilities include stocking shelves, assisting the Department Manager, and providing customer feedback to Department Managers and the Buyers' Team so our stores remain stocked with only the best products our customers have come to expect from JAX.

Additional tasks may include:
Accurately processing payments
Helping with visual merchandising
Maintaining a clean and well-stocked area
Complete record-keeping tasks and contributing to reports
Learning about products to provide better answers to customer questions
Assisting in loss prevention efforts
Communicating professionally
Presenting a professional appearance and demeanor
Taking steps to advance teamwork and develop solid working relationships with co-workers
Assisting in inventory responsibilities

Our ideal candidate has prior customer service experience, and is willing to pitch-in where needed.

Additional knowledge, skills or abilities include:
Interest or enthusiasm in clothing and footwear products carried by JAX
Previous knowledge or experience with retail sales preferred
Cashiering experience desired
Computer proficiency required
Works well with others
Organizational skills
Engaging and positive
Attention to detail

Schedule Requirements:
Must be available Weekends and days during the week
Flexible shifts available

Pay Range:
$ $13.00

Positions:
Part-time openings available, averaging 15-20 hours per week
