1.0 FTE/40 Hours per Week

The Language Services Bilingual Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support. Reporting to the Language Services Supervisor, the incumbent ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality tasks.

Key responsibilities include managing enrollment for GHC-SCW Primary Access for Kids Program ( PAK) and Generic PAK members, representing GHC-SCW and Language Services at the Latino Health Council, and conducting patient and member outreach through various channels such as telephone calls, digital communications, and mailings.

Additionally, the role involves assisting with translations between Spanish and English, as well as coordinating schedules for both staff and contract interpreters as required.

JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual proficiency in both spoken and written English and Spanish.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree from an accredited college in a relevant major; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant, responsible administrative experience is required. Experience in a health care or insurance environment is desirable.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use multiple computer systems including electronic medical record and scheduling systems (e.g. Epic Systems) is required. Epic experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in accurately translating written documents between English and Spanish.
  • Ability to design and create general correspondence, memos, charts, tables, graphs, web page content, reports, etc., required.
  • Outstanding verbal and interpersonal skills required. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to deal courteously, in a professional manner, and effectively with internal and external staff, practitioners, members and the public required. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with diverse corporate and membership populations.
  • Strong note taking/transcribing skills for meeting minutes required.
  • Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, solve problems, maintain accurate files, draft reports, and attend to details required.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision required.
  • Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and manage changing priorities required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA privacy requirements required.
  • Some travel may be required between various clinical and other service sites. If driving a vehicle possession of a valid Wisconsin driver license is required.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and carry up to 20lbs occasionally required.
  • Ability to speak and listen in person and on the phone required.
