About This Role
The Design & Print Specialist, in close partnership with the entire Marketing & Communications Department, is responsible for executing a wide range of design and print
projects while maintaining the School's visual identity, voice, and values.

  • Managing and maintaining the inventory of paper and supplies needed to run the Xerox Versant 280 Color Digital Press, and coordinating service as needed.

What You're Looking For
You'll join a close-knit and highly collaborative department formed in late 2020.

We are continuously developing and refining how we execute a strategic plan for our department while partnering with and supporting the work of every other department on campus, especially Admissions and Alumni & Development.

This position offers an opportunity to provide support and guidance for the entire school and to exert significant influence over how Kent is perceived internally and externally through graphic design and print projects.

Additionally, by developing a deep understanding of the printing equipment on campus, there is an opportunity to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the School that can drive our marketing and communications forward.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong desire to learn about Kent's mission, values, and culture.
  • Excellent time management, a flexible approach, and a high level of energy to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Familiarity with, and comfort using, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Canva, and other creative tools—or the desire and ability to learn quickly.
  • The desire to become fluent in Fiery Command Center for printing booklets, postcards, and other materials, as well as our DocuCutter.
  • Experience with Asana or similar project management software is a plus
  • Experience with content management and student information systems (Kent uses a Finalsite website and the Veracross student information system).
  • A collaborative nature, comfort with asking clarifying questions, and a knack for transparency.
  • An aptitude for processes and procedures with an appetite for increasing efficiency and accuracy.
  • A laser focus on the details, with the ability to see the bigger picture when needed.
  • An outstanding eye for design that falls within Kent's ethos of "simple elegance"
  • Comfort with deadlines and varying levels of supervision.
  • A friendly disposition with an approachable attitude and a warm sense of humor, eager to build partnerships across campus.
