    Overview

    We are looking for a Site Safety Manager to join Gray Construction. You will provide technical information on all safety and environmental requirements facing the company.

    What we expect... (Essential Functions)


    • Provide technical information on all safety and environmental requirements facing the company.
    • Locate, recruit and retain capable talented safety professionals for the company's workforce.
    • Integrate existing and new safety and health programs throughout the corporation
    • Facilitate training of all team members on new and reoccurring safety and health issues in the construction industry
    • Provide internal and external promotion of the company's safety program through the use of cultural discriminators.
    • Provide personal support of the company's safety mission
    • Assist all sites teams in administering counseling to team member s and subcontractors who are non-compliant with the required safety program
    • Ensure project safety pre-planning, subcontractor pre-qualification, customer pre-qualification and pre-construction meetings are completed as required
    • Responsible for completion of all incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions necessary
    • Responsible for timely reporting and tracking of all team member worksite injuries
    • Act as the point of contact for company in litigation associated with jobsite incidents
    • Coordinated activities of the Safety Committee
    • Utilize the QMS tablet for safety audits
    • Assist in determining project staff assignments
    • Assist in annual staff review process (Assistant Site Managers, Field Engineers and Safety staff)
    • Other duties may be assigned.
    Who we want... (Requirements)


    • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
    • OSHA 30 Hour card.
    • Experience in an industrial construction environment is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
    • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
    • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
    • Should be an energetic, self-motivated individual who has a passion for collaboration and professional development.


    This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S.

    The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray's travel policy.

    While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach and talk or hear.

    They are required to climb or balance, stop, kneel or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

    Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.

    May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations.

    Noise levels on the job site are normally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required. Extensive travel will be required.

    Directly supervises safety coordinator(s)
