Our Early Intervention program serves a remarkable 95% of all Greater Lawrence children who are referred to our Early Intervention services Our Early Intervention program provides support services and resources in Methuen, North Andover, and Andover.


All new hires participate in a paid onboarding program learning how Early Intervention helps children and families in a home-based setting or at our childcare center.

As a member of a cross-functional team you will establish supportive working relationships, participate in personal development and mentoring programs, as well as create your own flexible work schedule.


The Job

  • The _
    Bilingual Developmental Specialist _or _
    Developmental Specialist_ _a member of a multidisciplinary team providing inhome and childcare center EI services for children ages 03 who have or are at risk for developmental delays or have a diagnosed disability. This position contributes to the development of the Individual Family Service plan (IFSP) including strategies and family outcomes addressing the child's individual needs. The Bilingual DS or DS provides individualized, developmentally appropriate resources, and activities for the child and family utilizing parent coaching, participation in screenings, assessments, child and parent groups, center, and home visits. This position services clients through coordination and collaboration with team members, public/private and community service providers._

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Child Development Education or Child Studies, or in a related area with coursework reflecting at least 4 approved 3-credit courses on infants, toddlers, and/or families.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a pediatric setting working with children under the age of 5. Self employment cannot be considered.
  • Experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients. Bilingual in Spanish/English desirable, but not required.
  • Current, valid driver's license and the ability to provide proof of insurance coverage for travel between home visits.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental milestones and delays in children, as well as the impact of emotional, behavioral, and neurological disabilities on the child's functioning and development.
  • Sufficient computer and technical skills to complete position required documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, team members and other professionals.
  • Outstanding time management, organizational, problem solving and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, empathy and compassion for children and families.
  • History of maintaining client confidentiality, professional boundaries, displaying integrity, and credibility.
