- Write complex CNC and PLC programs for machine tools.
- Design new electrical and CNC control systems for retrofitting and remanufacturing of machine tools.
- Construct detailed bills of materials.
- Instruct and support various teams including sales engineers and customers.
- Document preliminary and finalized CNC/PLC programs.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure safe, reliable control systems for machines.
- Research and develop improved control systems/products.
- Engage in high voltage schematic design/layout and I/O.
- Write/repair ladder circuits, structured text programs, parametric programs.
- Final troubleshooting of electrical/control systems.
- Assist Purchasing with CNC control packages ordering.
- Travel to customer sites for project-related work (about 50%).
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and CNC-related software.
- Strong background in Siemens Sinumerik 840D/Fanuc Control Systems; experience with older/newer CNC systems desirable.
- Automotive industry experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot a variety of machine tool control issues effectively.
- Advanced programming ability/knowledge related to machine tool controls.
- Knowledgeable about machine tool applications as well as analog/digital servo systems.
