Develops and manages Public Information programs. Oversees public awareness matters for construction and expansion of mainline Turnpike projects and other activities along Florida's Turnpike system. Reviews, edits and approves news releases, brochures, newsletters and other related materials written by statewide consultant public information officers. Meets regularly with consultants by teleconference and conducts on-site project visits to solve problems. Formulates policies and procedures that have significant impact to Florida's Turnpike and its related projects. Assists in coordinating special events, press conferences, projects and other office functions.

Oversees staff within the office including, identifying work priorities and assignments, maintaining work schedules, motivating employees, ensuring that equipment and training is available, as needed.

Supervises direct report.

Serves as media spokesperson for Florida's Turnpike statewide program. Researches, writes, edits and disseminates information concerning Turnpike planning, production and operations to print and broadcast media. Maintains proactive story calendar and manages work.

Assists the Director of Communications in the overall management of the Florida's Turnpike brand and image.

Works with the Turnpike's Marketing team and consultants to ensure a coordinated and consistent message within the Turnpike's communications programs.

Serves as signing authority for the Director of Communications.

Manages the Communications contracts and budget for the Turnpike Enterprise.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
