The Structural Heart Navigator is responsible for performing duties according to Structural Heart Department policy, procedures, processes, and protocols and according to directives from the Lead Structural Heart Navigator and Director of Cath Lab.
Ensures efficiency and productivity with respect to administrative and clinical functions of the positionUtilizes positive communication with physicians, office staff, hospital stakeholders and their office staff on available programs and updated processes
Acts as a liaison and ambassador with external hospitals and clinicians to direct appropriate referrals to the cardiac surgery practice to provide seamless care for patients, both inpatient and outpatient.
Communicates and coordinates with the pre-admission testing dept., surgical scheduling, and nursing unitsAct as a resource for cardiovascular research projects when needed, at the discretion of the Administrator of Cardiovascular Services.
Coordinates follow-up with external facilities and assists in communication with other facilities with questions of patient careResponsible for answering phones and emails, sending messages to clinic staff and providers, in a professional and timely manner
Schedule patients for their procedures including all pre and post work ups, prior authorizations, and communications for compliant billing
Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice and/or active compact license, in accordance with laws and regulation or Florida Radiology
One year cardiovascular clinical experience, data management, clinical analysis, process improvement and reporting required.
