    Position: Farm Cultivation Team Member
    Reports To: Farm Manager
    Job Type: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

    Approximate Start Date: April 8, 2024

    Nestled on 325 acres, Southall Farm and Inn is just outside of Nashville, yet feels a world away.     Position Description:

    The position of Farm Cultivation Team Member at Southall Farm and Inn is both a rewarding and challenging opportunity. We operate just over two and a half acres of intensive market garden vegetables as well as pastured poultry. All the products that we grow on the farm are destined for plates in the restaurant As a member of the cultivation team, you will be trained and entrusted to execute the daily tasks that are associated with the farm and our orchard. Those tasks include, but are not limited to; weeding, seeding, planting, shoveling, harvesting, washing vegetables, and animal husbandry chores. At Southall Farm, we blend agricultural production, guest facing interaction, and aesthetic beauty to achieve a space where passionate farmers grow healthy food that is highlighted by talented chefs to be enjoyed by wonderful guests under the blue skies of middle Tennessee.

    Requirements:

    • The job will also require lifting of objects 50 lbs. multiple times per day.
    • Weekend and weekday availability.
    • Ability to work on hands and knees for extended periods of time.
    • Some of your daily work will be guest facing and you will be required to greet guests politely
    • Members of the Cultivation Team will be asked to be outside rain or shine
    • You must demonstrate the ability to stay focused and efficient without supervision.
    • Good communication, teamwork, and a solution-based attitude are all MUSTS.

    Preference given to those with:

    • Market Garden Experience
    • Trained on a BCS
    • Flexibility for weekends
    • Customer service experience

    Skills and Experience:

    • Valid driver's license
    • 1+ Season(s) of farming preferred
    • 1+ year(s) with livestock or pets

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
