Bilingual Legal Assistant

We are currently seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English)

Legal Assistant to join our family friendly work environment. As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for various tasks related to medical records management and administrative support. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with no take-home work. We provide free Health Benefits. We also provide free parking for our employees.


Responsibilities:


  • Requesting and

Obtaining Medical Records:
Communicate with healthcare providers and facilities to request medical records for patients. Follow up on requests and ensure timely receipt of records.

  • Organizing Medical Records: Organize and maintain physical and electronic medical records in a systematic and secure manner. Ensure proper documentation and labeling for easy retrieval.
  • Scanning Medical Records: Convert paperbased medical records into digital format using scanning equipment and software. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while scanning and indexing documents.
  • Transmitting Medical Records: Facilitate the transmission of medical records between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other relevant parties. Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and maintain records of transmission.
  • Scheduling Medical Appointments: Assist patients in scheduling medical appointments, coordinating with healthcare providers' schedules, and updating appointment calendars. Provide necessary information and reminders to patients regarding appointments.
  • Transmitting Disability Slips/Off Work Slips and Prescriptions: Process and transmit disability slips, off work slips, and prescriptions as required by healthcare providers. Ensure accurate and timely delivery to the appropriate parties.

Requirements:


  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and maintain medical records in a systematic and efficient manner, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to accurately scan, index, and transmit medical records and other related documents.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English to interact with clients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
  • Confidentiality: Strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
