JOB SUMMARY
A paragraph summary of the overall responsibilities of the position.
Responsible to achieve the department's annual written premium and revenue goals. Responsible to provide supervisory oversight of the department's sales staff and resources needed to accomplish strategic and operational goals. Develop product offerings to effectively meet customer needs and corporate initiatives.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hire, organize, train, and professionally develop special markets sales staff to consistently meet departmental and personal goals.
  • Develop annual sales goals, strategies, line of brand marketing, and other necessary activities or processes to reach departmental goals.
  • Identify, research, and propose additional departmental products and services for evaluation by the Brotherhood Mutual leadership team.
  • Oversee all departmental channels of distribution and preserve the loyalty and working relationship with the independent agents.
  • Negotiate agreements, including terms, revenue sharing, and commission structure, with program partners.
  • Oversee program partner relationships and work with the department sales team to maintain positive relationships with them.
  • Responsible to research and propose periodic department sales and marketing campaigns for review, approval, and implementation with marketing leadership.
  • Represent department in corporate meetings, agency visits, and convention marketing to promote the awareness and value of the special markets products and services.
  • Work alongside upper management and department leaders to develop the division's budget and maintain sound financial and management controls over division resources.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

  • Possess detailed knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of church polity and leadership operations.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Possess strong leadership and coaching/mentoring skills.
  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
List Degree Requirement, Years' Experience, and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Five years of experience in sales, customer service, or related fields is required.
  • Indiana P&C and L&H agent licenses are desired.
  • CIC, CPCU, or other applicable professional designations is desired.
  • Experience in ministry leadership at a volunteer or staff level is desired.
  • Familiarity with the mission's community and shortterm missions is desired.
