Responsibilities

The industrial mechanic (m/f/d) is responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing technical systems and machinery. Common tasks include monitoring and improving production processes, as well as performing necessary repair and maintenance work. The majority of their working time is spent in the workshop of their employer.

Training Process

The training period is 3 1/2 years. The first year consists of full-time instruction at the one-year commercial and technical vocational school in Offenburg. During the rest of the training period, an introduction to relevant departments will take place. After 1 1/2 years, a practical, oral, and written part I final exam will be taken. Part II of the final exam will be completed after 3 1/2 years. Under certain conditions, the training period can be shortened by up to 12 months - for example, with a technical college entrance qualification, general higher education entrance qualification, or completed vocational training.
