Heinsberg Prison is currently seeking to fill several positions, expected to be available as soon as possible, for
- a social worker (with state recognition/diploma or B.A.) or
- a social pedagogue (with state recognition/diploma or B.A.)

in the areas of criminal and/or pre-trial detention. In addition to two permanent full-time positions, there may also be opportunities for temporary employment in full-time and part-time.

The employment relationship is subject to the collective agreement for federal states (TV-L).

The classification is in pay group 15 of the S-table of the pay scale (social and educational services) of the TV-L.

A later transfer to civil service is possible if the legal and career requirements are met.

Heinsberg Prison is a facility for juvenile detention (criminal and pre-trial detention) with 518 places in closed detention.


Job Description
The job involves providing social support and treatment for juvenile and young adult male pre-trial detainees and/or prisoners.


The main tasks of the social service include psychosocial diagnostics, professional counseling, individual social assistance, group social work, cooperation with external institutions, and the provision of social support in the context of release preparation.

An individual execution plan is developed and implemented in an interdisciplinary team.
