The Personnel Security Specialist serves as a key role in our unit responsible for verifying existing background investigations and initiating the appropriate level of investigations for all permanent employees and client-requested individuals.
This role requires impeccable attention to detail to ensure that all required information is complete, accurate, and submitted within established timeframes as contractually obligated.
As the main point of contact for applicants, their supervisors, and staffing personnel, you will play a vital role in guiding applicants through the eAPP process, providing valuable feedback and guidance.
Responsibilities:
As a Personnel Security Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our Managed Services Team
Your responsibilities include:
Review and verify the appropriate level of background investigation required for each case.
eAPP (formerly eQIP)
Management:
You will initiate and efficiently manage eAPP cases through the NBIS System, ensuring that all requirements for the specified background investigation level are met and completed within established timeframes.
Complete transactions and tasks tailored to each client's needs, making sure all Service Level Agreement mandates and timeframes are met, as detailed in Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensure that all task-specific data is accurate, current, and properly documented. This documentation is crucial for monitoring mandated milestones, reporting, and completing invoices within established timeframes.Diagnose underlying issues and work independently to resolve them, utilizing appropriate tools and skills.
Develop and maintain all necessary supporting documentation specific to each task order.
Identify and assess client needs to provide satisfactory solutions and uphold a high standard of client service.
Apply your knowledge to resolve new and undocumented incidents, based on an understanding of contract requirements and internal processes.
Respond promptly to email and voicemail messages within established timeframes, documenting the resolutions effectively.
Gather, organize, and analyze data with precision and efficiency. Solve problems associated with data gathering and perform benchmark and optimization analyses.
Required Education & Experience:
High School Diploma with 3 years of relevant work experience.
Relevant experience in security and/or intelligence fields.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree with 4 or more years of subject matter expertise.
Active T2 security clearance or higher
Hands-on experience in security and/or intelligence disciplines.
Experience implementing complex government security and/or intelligence programs and policies is preferable.
