Longwood Gardens is seeking a full-time Visitor Center Assistant Manager to join our Guest Admissions Operations team.

Our Guest Admissions Operations team is responsible for all ticketing operations for general admission and events, membership sales and services, class registrations, Guest Services & amenities, Gardens access, and Contact Center operations.

This dynamic role is responsible for training team members in all areas of the Visitor Center operation, including systems and service standards, as well as overseeing daily Visitor Center operations in collaboration with other members of the full-time management team


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Training and conducting quality assurance checks with parttime team members in accordance with established training guidelines
  • Managing the daily operations of the Visitor Center, including leading and motivating a team of guestcentric professionals, as well as working within the operation as needed
  • Regularly communicating with our guests and members with a focus on delivering a worldclass guest experience, in addition to serving as the point of contact for guest escalations
  • Ensuring adherence to operational policies and procedures, while making improvement recommendations and implementing changes
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant guest services, ticketing, or hospitality management experience
  • A degree in Education or training experience in a related field is a plus
  • A technical skillset, specifically with Point of Sales, and an advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, project and time management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • A focus on being selfmotivated, energetic, and flexible, with an emphasis on innovation and collaboration
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
