The Benefits Administration Assistant is responsible for support the Benefits Broker and Director of Benefits Services with day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life/accidental death & dismemberment, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, health reimbursement arrangements and supplemental benefits).


JOB SUMMARY:


The Administrative Assistant facilitates the efficient operation of HRi by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks and projects.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Answers and transfers phone calls, screening as necessary.
  • Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
  • Scans, links, and distributes mail to appropriate departments and internal CRM.
  • Daily monitoring of fax box for scanning, linking, and distribution
  • Completes administrative projects as needed for internal departments.
  • Updates benefit flyers and Sway documents in alignment with client benefit renewals at the direction of the benefits team.
  • Audits benefit enrollments, terminations, and plan changes at the discretion of the benefit administrator.
  • Monitors notices to be sent to appropriate employees daily and responds accordingly.
  • Assists with research for various discrepancies (clientbased or internal).
  • Completes various internal departmental audits (i.e. employee new hires, terminations, I9s, tax forms, etc).
  • Proofreads and types documents and correspondences produced by departmental leads.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems, such as recordkeeping and filing
  • Knowledge of using a physical fax machine/copier
  • Ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge with HRIS preferred (Prism, Paychex, ADP, Rippling, Gusto, etc)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Diploma required, associate degree in an HRrelated field preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • This position is fulltime and inperson at our office in Crofton.

Pay:
From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
