Job Overview

With this in mind, we are searching for a self-starting Human Resource Manager who enjoys shaping the human resources direction coupled with doing the work required to ensure an outstanding employee experience

In this role, you will contribute to our Firm by:

  • Building rapport with all members of the Firm.
  • Gathering input from Firm employees and partners to better understand their employment experience and Human Resources needs.
  • Bringing forth strategic Human Resources initiatives to address short
- and long-term needs of the Firm for the Executive Committee to consider.

  • Collaborating with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to Human Resources.
  • Implementing mutually agreed upon initiatives, monitoring those key performance indicators, and making recommendations to adjust the course of action as needed.
  • Hearing and resolving employee complaints and concerns.
  • Conducting employee engagement surveys, identifying trends, setting priorities, and crafting strategies to address opportunities of improvement.
  • Executing the administration of HR programs.
  • Oversee and engage in hiring and selection, performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale management, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; training and development and off boarding.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation and paperwork.
  • Assist with the administration of benefits programs such as 401k, life, health, dental, vision, disability insurance, and employee assistance.
  • Ensure COBRA compliance in employee hiring and termination.
  • Maintain employees' personnel records and related files according to current legal guidelines.
  • Assist Managers in hiring, grievance concerns, reviewing data, performance management, and staff support/morale.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits analysis, reviewing processes, data retrieval, and analysis, including reviewing and revising the program as needed.
  • Administer employee leaves, manage FLMA compliance
  • Supervisor our 3 Office Services staff members
  • Coordination of summer clerk program
To be successful in the role, you will bring:

  • 5+ years of human resource management experience. Preferred industry experience in a professional service setting.
  • Experience in a handson HR role. Someone who is selfstarting and enjoys both participating in the direction of the Firm's HR efforts as well as doing the work.
  • Ability to work as a solo HR practitioner.
  • Ability to listen effectively and address situations with a high level of emotional intelligence, solid judgement, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, work independently, work on many matters simultaneously, and demonstrate organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively build rapport with employees and partners i.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, identify the best path forward, and bring the recommendation to the Executive Committee.
