Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School of
Chicago, IL is seeking to hire
full-time High School Teaching Assistants to play a vital role in our students' academic success. Teachers work
Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:30pm with a shortened academic day in the summer and
time off in July and August.

Education/Experience Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a background in counseling
-
_ Illinois State Certification, Type 3- within 90 days of employment_

  • Academic background in elementary education and/or a core content in a secondary education area preferred
  • Experience with students with Emotional Disabilities and/or Autism preferred
  • Two years of experience working with severely emotionally disturbed students as a counselor or within a classroom setting preferred
  • Applicants should possess a strong commitment to strength perspective, empowering families and a willingness to work in a high demanding work situation that requires flexibility and innovativeness
